8 bizarre thoughts I believed as a young child

I wanted to share some of the non realistic and unbelievable ideas I used to think when I was a little girl. Our minds have the tendency to manipulate situations and ideas into a completely foolish expectation and it’s actually really entertaining to reminisce on some of the stuff I used to think as a young child.  Let me share.

1) We are all familiar with insents and perfumes right? I used to wonder how many bottles of perfumes it would take to fragrance the whole entire world. Until the whole world smelled like my perfume. Lol.

2) Similiar to number 1, anytime I sat around a bonfire on a chilly autumn day, I would wonder how long the fire would have to burn until the whole world was warm. Lol.

3) Blowdryers. I used to think blow drying my face would get me tan. Lol.

4) I used to imagine my bicycle as a automobile. I would literally turn the bike handles into a circular motion, similar to a steering wheel, whenever I made a sharp turn on my bike. Lol.

5) I used to think that our age correspended with our school grade level. For instance, if you were 8 years old, I thought you were in 8th grade.

6) When I was completing chores around the house, say for instance when I was vacuuming…I used to vacuum the actual air as if crumbs were falling from the air. I always wondered how crumbs and dust appeared in the carpet or on the floor. Lol.

7) I used to jump straight into my bed keeping my feet at a distance from the open space between the floor and the bed frame, as if there were actually someone sleeping under my bed. I didn’t want “them” to touch my feet. Lol.

8) I used to hide in the turtle sandbox that sat behind my house in the backyard for hours. It had a cover that looked like a turtle.  I used to think I was “born” into a new world whenever I stepped out of the sandbox.  Lol.

And… that’s all I’ve got right now. It’s hard to remember all of the the crazy and ficticious imaginations I used to wonder about but the ones listed are the most rememberable.

Is there anything you used to think when you were younger, that is completely bizarre and totally unreal? Please share!

  1. Amusing as your childhood musings were, I thought they all followed pretty sound thought processes. I suspect you were rather a bright and curious child. I absolutely love ” Not all who wander are lost”. Beautiful bit of insight that.

    1. Hi Brian, thanks for sharing! Did you think that only about Mondays?? Or did you think that anytime you went to bed early, the new day would come faster? LOL. That’s amusing 🙂 We are all too funny.

      1. Am fine. Thank you!
Yes! I used to think that only about Mondays because that was the day I had to wake up early for school after a weekend of resting. LOL😂😂

  2. Omg I love these all I can’t even decide which is my favorite!! (Yes I can – it’s the blowdryer tan one lol.) And number 8 sounds like the PERFECT setup for a children’s book/series, if you ever feel like pursuing that.

    1. Hahahahah. Thanks for reading girl!! I am honestly surprised I don’t have permanent scarring on my face from all the blow- drying LOL!! And wow Sydney that is a great idea about the children’s book. I could do so much with that. I am going to put more thought into that. Thanks!

    1. Why thank you! I appreciate your feedback. I am happy to admit I don’t believe in any of those things anymore…thank gosh. Lol. It’s all made me who I am today, though. Thanks for reading this! 🙂

  3. LOL! Love it!

I used to think there was some kind of invisible tracks on the road, and as you drove your car, it would follow them much like a train. All you had to do was control the speed and switch tracks when necessary. Gotta love young imaginations, eh? *grin*
