Isn’t sleeping a great and magnificent thing? It puts us in a vulnerable state of mind, and (temporarily) alleviates the emotional pain and chaos some of us experience in our lives.
Most days I wake up feeling refreshed and revitalized—embracing positive thought and forming several mental images of previous day events as well as present day expectations.
Some days, I wake up immediately in a peculiar state of mind. It feels as though I just woke up from a different world, where an explanation of its existence is in question.
It’s one thing to dream about getting married, walking on the beach, or dreaming of someone completely random. Someone you haven’t seen or heard from in a long time.
But what’s strange are those re-occurring dreams I tend to have.
I’ve dreamt of the follow more than one time:
- Driving up/over a steep bridge
- Walking down a path surrounded by green grass
- Flying over my old neighborhood
Each of these remarkable phenomenon’s must mean something. I do the research, and the explanations make perfect sense. But I find it bizarre how I’ve experienced the same dream over and over again.
Now don’t get me wrong, I know the difference between dream land and reality. But I believe our dreams illustrate how we are currently feeling in the real world. Now if only they could really tell us our future, Am I Right?!
Please, share your thoughts. I’d love to hear about your dreams and your thoughts about the subject!
I too believe our subconscious, our dreams or nightmares, are a reflection of something way, way back in our past (past lives), or currently, or possibly to come, or a combination of the three.
I use to have one or two recurring dreams — a nightmare in particular. It was during one of my most difficult, painful times in my life where several key parts were ‘spinning wildly out of control.’ Fortunately, when the time was right, my therapist at the time, took me through regressive hypnosis, found the source (time-period), and helped free me. I have never had the nightmare since! 🙂
I won’t go into the Quantum Mechanics of it all, but our subconscious — much of it we hardly ever access in daily conscious life — is most likely a window into the Universe within and without. Continue your exploration of them Settia. ❤

Dreams are certainly a window to our past present and future. It’s amazing how it all works and it really takes a lot of energy to talk about it. There’s so much to talk about. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I swear my dreams are just a bunch of deja vu or something. For example, one time I was driving down a country road with my boyfriend just talking. Then all of a sudden, he started talking about one of our friend’s truck. Then I realized I had a dream about this exact situation a week or two prior. I was freaked out. And that’s not the first time it has happened. It happens all the time.

Loved your posts!! They are amazing.
I would like to share my experience about dreams. Few dreams I do remember very well. Few I don’t.
But there was a time when some 2-3 places came in my dreams. Not back to back but during different times. I know I haven’t visited these places in real life. But after I woke up I felt these places pretty familiar even without actually visiting them in real life. Don’t know why

Thank you so much! Dreams are something else, aren’t they? They have the power to take us places we’ve never even thought of! Funny how that works, right? Lol. The re-occurring dreams I have come and go at different time periods in my life. It’s very rarely back to back for me also.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate them!

My pleasure! Nice to connect with you. Dreams are something different. Infact they have their own separate world. In this world we see known, unknown, happiness, sadness and much more

Sleep is truly a magnificient thing. Unfortunately, I quite often wake up in this peculiar state of mind you describe, often when I’ve had a really weird dream. Since being on psych meds, I get a lot of these really weird dreams. My most common re-occurring dream is of me having to do my final exams for high school graduation, and invariably I fail (I graduated with pretty good grades in 2005).

Isn’t it crazy? Dreaming the same thing more than one time. I must admit that when I sleep in a hot room (when the AC is off) I have nightmares. Every single time. It’s usually a dream about me trying to run, but I can’t run fast enough. It’s incredible what our minds do while we are asleep. We have absolutely no control when we are sound asleep. Our brain takes us wherever the hell it wants us to go. Lol. Thank you for sharing! I enjoyed reading your comment.

It’s so interesting how REAL my dreams can feel, and how much of my current life they incorportate. Sometimes, I wake and struggle to remember what was dream and what was memory – it’s a strange thing.

I know right! My dreams feel very real also. Sometimes I wake up, and I KNOW I had a dream but I can’t recollect all of the events. I just see several scenes in my mind that did not happen in real life. It’s crazy. I’ve heard that we should keep a record of our dreams. Just so we don’t forget the small details later, and better analyze them. Thank you for reading!

Reoccurring dreams are so mystifying! I haven’t had one recently but in the past I’ve often had them. The only cool one I’ve had is flying. For me, in my dreams, flying feels like swimming in the air. I love it! I think in the dream I’m just realizing I can fly, so I always feel like I’m going to wake up with that ability. Alas, I still can’t fly.
My other reoccurring dreams seem to stem from anxiety- running slowly while being chased and many times I’ve dreamt of my teeth falling out so easily. Hate that one!
Our minds are crazy and cool. 🙂

Lol! Dreams are so weird. You are so right, there is no switch button. We do not have the power to control whether we dream or not. It just happens. Interesting thought!

Sleep is very important to me. It is a magnificent thing indeed. Sometimes I wonder how I dose of to sleep. Like there is no buttons. There is no switch off buttons. To make us go to sleep and dream crazy dreams.

Well you’ve read some of my posts about dreams and they can get kinda strange 🤣. But I love them. Sometimes they’re so vivid, it feels like real life and I’m disappointed when I wake up. What happens in our real lives and our thoughts definitely influences our dreams.

Hahahah yes I have read them. I am disappointed when I wake up too! Most nights I don’t dream, and I presume that means I’m at ease with myself while I’m awake.

I guess that means I’m not at ease at all while I’m awake. Oh dear 😧

Haha ooo I didn’t mean it in that way! I think the best way to think of dreams is that it is a reflection, or illustration of our thoughts and experiences while we are awake. Hey, who can really say what the hell our dreams mean. Lol. But it makes sense to me that we dream of frightening things when we experience pain or anger. And the opposite is true when we are content. Does that makes sense?? haha.
